Drawer Guides

2013.07.14

With the drawer runners and kickers in place, the last element of the drawer guides were the guides themselves, which keep the drawer from moving too far side to side.  I ripped two narrow pieces from a scrap of 5/4 maple and planed them square.  Because the pieces are so small, I did the final ripping with a little kugihiki saw.  Then there was some careful planing to make the guides flush with the legs and sit square on the runners.

I had to use scrap blocks along with the handscrew clamps to hold the guides in place until the glue set.
