San Diego Model Railroad Museum

The next museum we visited was the San Diego Model Railroad Museum, also in Balboa Park. There are several very large layouts with an incredible level of detail. Some are recreations of actual places, others are imaginary.
Each layout usually has a volunteer on hand (complete with train engineer cap) to keep an eye on things.
There was a somewhat dark room with trains running at night, and another room where everything was made out of LEGOs, including the moving train.
