Hastings Building

The Hastings family were some of the original founders of Port Townsend, arriving in 1852.  The family-owned Hastings Estate Company built this building in 1889, and descendents still own it.  It was “conceded by all to be the most elegant building in the city”.

N. D. Hill Building, Clapp Building

Cyrus F. Clapp built a small brick building with cast-iron facade around 1885.  Pharmacist N. D. Hill replaced an earlier structure at Quincy and Water with a three-story brick building in 1889.
