Finally got around to disconnecting the wall heater in the back room of the basement.  The line from the panel goes into a metal junction box, and from there splits to connect to three of these electric wall heaters: this one in the back room of the basement, one for the bedroom directly upstairs, and one for the dining.

After I disconnected the wires, I pulled down the wiring, thermostat, the heater itself, and the studs.
