New Additions in Late Spring
2007.05.22
Added some new plants to the west garden today, in an attempt to fill in some blank spots, particularly towards the south end. I had left a large area unplanted in anticipation of the mature size of the Japanese Fiber Banana, but alas it did not survive the winter.
At any rate, today I planted a Purpleleaf Plum, a Magic Carpet Spiraea, a Beard Tongue, a White Veronica, and a couple Navajo Bright Red Salvias.
Most of the new plants are in the middle foreground of the overall photo, except the plum is further back near the second basement window. Along with new plantings, I also moved the concrete cobblestone path, since it was quickly being overrun in the original location by the (surprisingly aggressive) wild strawberries, and the expanding Cape Fuchsia and Abelia.
