Vines are Growing

When I planted the Clematis and cut it down just above the first set of leaves, it really looked bad for a while, so I wasn’t sure if it would put on any new growth this year (or even survive).  However, after probably establishing roots for a while, eventually it started coming up, and now seems to be doing well.

The China Blue Vine is steadily climbing the trellis, especially at this end, where I can almost chart the progress from day to day.

The China Blue Vine has put on a flower… in October?  Well, it has been unusually warm for October.  Apparently this is a male flower, the female flowers are white and smaller.
