So, about 9:00 pm yesterday evening (a Sunday), I heard some kids screaming and playing outside. Well, that’s normal, but boy, they sure did seem close by.
I was in the kitchen, so I opened the blinds and looked out to see two kids, maybe about age 3 or 4, over by my little flowerbed next to the driveway pulling my petunias out of the ground and hurling them against the fence. Seriously?!
By the time I got out there, one of them was pulling on a bamboo shoot. Meanwhile, the parents and other adults were standing around their minivan parked in front of my house, totally ignoring their children destroying my flowers.
Why is it that so many people who have kids are not qualified to raise them?

Today I bought some new annuals to replace the ones the kids pulled up. I planted several Lobelia ‘Riviera Sky Blue’, and one Zinnia ‘Dreamland Series’.
I also added a new little flowerbed further down the driveway, with some Salvia ‘Vista Red’.
2007.07.01
The Lily started blooming a couple weeks ago. Smells lovely. A couple of the Marigolds turned out to be orange instead of yellow.
Saw a hummingbird today trying out the red Salvias.
