New Culms in Spring

It looks like there might be some new culms coming up. I’m being cautiously optimistic, because last time, they turned out to be rhizomes mistakenly coming out of the ground, and didn’t amount to much.

Now they are peeking up all along the planting area; mostly near the existing plants, but also some in the spaces between. They are hard to see in photographs. I chose a couple shots that are clearer than most.
